The FSSA Employer-Sponsored Child Care Fund awarded a second round of grants, announced yesterday. Two additional local United Ways have been awarded grants totaling $918,579 (United Way Greater Cincinnati SE Indiana, UW Howard/Tipton). Added to round one grants to United Way of Marshall County and United Way of Central Indiana, the total amount awarded to members of Indiana United Ways from the FSSA Employer-Sponsored Child Care Fund is $2,266,505.

- United Way of Marshall County ($750,000)
- United Way of Central Indiana ($597,926)
These funds will be utilized to facilitate a range of cooperative programs designed to increase availability and quality of childcare around the state, and may include sponsoring Dependent Care Assistance Plans (DCAPs), providing Onsite or Near-Site Child Care, establishing Priority Waitlist Partnerships, offering Tuition Benefits, reserving Seats in Local Child Care Programs, providing Backup Care Options, Community Infrastructure Investments, and TriShare Programs. Child care is essential to both advancing educational opportunity and economic mobility.
